What is the difference between quartz and granite?
Granite is a 100% natural stone extracted in bulk from the mountains. Its color will depend on the geological formation of the soil where it is extracted. Extremely hard, granite must be cut with a diamond saw, before being polished and then transformed into a countertop offering great resistance to scratches and heat. Unlike granite, quartz happens not to be a natural stone. It is extracted from quarries in the form of crushed granules to which resin (3%) and color pigments are added. Manufactured in the factory, quartz is available in a variety of colors; ranging from neutral tones to colors impossible to find in nature such as red, blue or lime green for example.
